PLANTED WITH LOVE
Lyrics © Linda Lamon 2021
CHORUS 1
Mighty oaks, from little acorns grow,
Who’ll be reaping what we sow,
Our children’s children,
Will walk through these woods.
And in the meadows,
That we planted with love.
VERSE 1
The cherry will bloom in the Spring,
And birds will tunefully sing,
Up to the sky they’ll reach,
And so will the beautiful beech.
The willow will root and stand,
Along with these natives of,
Our pleasant land, our pleasant land!
CHORUS 2
Mighty oaks, from little acorns grow,
Who’ll be reaping what we sow,
Our children’s children,
Will walk through these woods
And in the meadows,
That we planted with love.
VERSE 2
We’ll always remember the time,
When along with your family and mine,
We seeded the fields,
For generations to yield,
The badger will build his sett,
Wildflowers will create,
And grow again and again and again, and again!
CHORUS 3
Mighty oaks, from little acorns grow,
Who’ll be reaping what we sow,
Our children’s children,
Will walk through these woods
And in the meadows,
That we planted with love.
Planted with love!

HAZEL THE DORMOUSE
Lyrics © Linda Lamon
Chorus 1
Hazel the dormouse is sleeping,
Her head tucked under her tail,
Deep in the heart of the woodland,
Safe and warm from the winter chills.
In Springtime she’ll awaken,
Tiny feet and claws will unfold,
She’ll scurry out into the open,
And sip nectar from the Hawthorne.
Chorus 2
Until then, Hazel is sleeping,
Her head tucked under her tail,
Deep in the heart of the woodland,
Safe and warm from the winter chills.
Hazel spends her summer nights,
On branches high up in the trees,
Big whiskers guide her way,
Through the canopy of trees
Chorus 3
Until then, Hazel is sleeping,
Her head tucked under her tail,
Deep in the heart of the woodland,
Safe and warm from the winter chills.
In the Autumn Dilly gets busy,
Filling her little tum,
Nibbling hazelnuts gently,
Ready for hibernation.
Chorus 4
Until then, Hazel is sleeping,
Her head tucked under her tail,
Deep in the heart of the woodland,
Safe and warm from the winter chills
Hazel the Dormouse is sleeping
Her head tucked under her tail.

MR PRICKLES
Lyrics © Linda Lamon 2021
On a warm summer’s eve,
Whilst walking near my home,
I heard a rustle and a kind of sneeze,
It was such a funny sound!
I crept beside the old hedgerow,
And tried not to move a thing,
Then out came a tiny creature,
And he began to sing:
Chorus 1
I am prickly, I am shiny,
I come out in the middle of the night
I curl up in a cute round ball
And go to sleep as the winter falls.
His brown coat was so spiky,
He had such stumpy feet,
His tiny eyes shone brightly,
As he sniffed for bugs to eat.
Call me Mr Prickles he said
And he became my friend
At dusk when it was time for bed
We’d sing his hedgehog song:
Chorus 2
I am prickly, I am shiny,
I come out in the middle of the night
I curl up in a cute round ball
And go to sleep as the winter falls
Spoken part
Well, Mr Prickles went off to hibernate (as hedgehogs do)
But then Spring came - and guess who was waiting at my gate?
Middle
Mr Prickles in my garden
Running around with his wet black nose
He makes me so excited
From my head down to my toes
He’s wild, oh so wild,
Makes me smile, all the while
“Cos he’s so wild!
Chorus 3
I am prickly, I am shiny,
I come out in the middle of the night
I curl up in a cute round ball
And go to sleep as the winter falls
I curl up in a cute round ball
And go to sleep as the winter falls.
Goodnight Mr Prickles!

BANJO MAN
In Memory of Richard Thrift
Lyrics © Linda Lamon 2021
He’s spent time with some mighty fine pickers
Shared a stage with the greatest from afar.
He’s passed his knowledge on and taught us how to strum,
Like those country folks that went on before.
Chorus 1
Banjo man, who can yodel-a-a-dee,
And sings songs with a sweet harmony,
He can play ukelele,
Pick guitar, he's a star, and music is his le-ga-cy.
Middle 1
So, let those banjo's ring,
Ukelele’s sing,
And the guitars pling,
For the banjo man who can yodel a dee.
Banjo solo
Chorus 2
Banjo man, who can yodel-a-a-dee,
And sings songs with a sweet harmony,
He can play ukelele,
Pick guitar, he's a star, and music is his le-ga-cy.
So, let those banjo's ring,
Ukelele’s sing,
And the guitars pling,
For the banjo man who can yodel a dee.
Who can yodel, yodel, yodel,
Yodel a – dee!

With A Mothers Eyes
Lyrics © Linda Lamon 2021
Verse 1
With a mother's eyes I saw
The Cliffs of Moher
Rolling limestone clad in flowers
And the twelve tall pins of Connemara.
Verse 2
With a mother's ears I heard
The sweet song of the birds
Raging seas and gentle music
Merry reels and a history in words
Pre -chorus 1
I tasted the dark fruit of the Burren
And creamy black stuff on my tongue
I kissed the stark ancient ruins
Where proud people once belonged.
Chorus 1
Warm winds and white bays
Old men with bright eyes
Star studded night skies
And silence that calmed the soul.
Verse 3
With a mother's hand I touched
The green wet shamrock
Felt the cries of the ancient Celt
In hidden tombs on the road from Howth
Pre -chorus 2
I breathed the fragrance of the orchid
And peat smoke from the fireside
Atlantic air filled my bosom
Where the soft shore meets the tide.
Chorus 2
Warm winds and white bays
Old men with bright eyes
Star studded night skies
And silence that calmed the soul.
And silence that calmed the soul

TO MY WILDWOOD FLOWER
Lyrics © Linda Lamon 2021
Verse 1
On a clear bright day when we first met,
We talked about our guitars,
I teased you about your namesake,
But my soul was warmed by your heart.
Chorus 1
You told me you liked old country,
As we whispered between bands,
When I sang, you smiled so warmly,
You raised your hands, to my Wildwood Flower.
Verse 2
The talk at the bar was appealing,
We laughed about gender mistakes,
We shared some songs and stories
But I left before it got late.
Chorus 2
You told me you liked old country,
As we whispered between bands,
When I sang, you smiled so warmly,
You raised your hands, to my Wildwood Flower.
Middle
When will we meet again
And will we be lovers or just friends
Chorus 3
You raised your hands, to my Wildwood Flower
You raised your hands, to my Wildwood Flower
